主谓短语作主语 · 受事主语
a whole clause as the subject · the thing done comes first, with no 被
Structure
主谓短语 + 谓语 · 东西 + 动词 + 结果/了
What it means
Two patterns: a whole small clause can be the subject of a sentence; and the thing done can come first, with no doer and no 被.
How it is built
(1) clause + predicate: 比分多少不重要 (what the score is doesn’t matter). (2) Thing + verb + result/了: 作业写好了,饭也做好了 (the homework’s done, and dinner’s ready).
When to use it
(1) is common with 不重要, 都行, 没关系: 你来不来都没关系. Use (2) when the doer is obvious or doesn’t matter. Keep 被 for things that happen to someone, often unwelcome: 我的钱包被人拿走了.
Watch out
In (2) the verb is never bare: ✗ 饭做。 ✓ 饭做好了。 And don’t add 被 when nothing happened to anyone: ✗ 饭被做好了。 ✓ 饭做好了。
