Structure
未 动词（短语）
What it means
The written 没（有）: denies that something has happened, or has happened yet. Never for a habit or a wish, which take 不.
How it is built
未 + verb (phrase): 截至发稿时，该公司未作任何回应 (at the time of going to press the company had not made any response).
When to use it
News, notices and documents, often in fixed phrases: 未发现, 未回应, 未知, 未曾, 尚未 (= 还没有), 未经…，不得…, 未满十八岁. In speech say 没… or 还没….
Watch out
Like 没, it takes no 了: ✗ 未发现了 ✓ 未发现. Don't confuse it with 未必 (not necessarily) or 未来 (the future).
Examples
截至发稿时，该公司未作任何回应。
At the time of going to press the company had not made any response.
目前尚未发现人员伤亡。
So far no casualties have been found.
未经本人同意，不得公开他人的照片和住址。
No one may publish another person’s photos or address without their consent.
