Structure
在 + 人 + 看来，…… · 拿 + 名词 + 来说，……
What it means
在 + person + 看来 opens with an opinion and says whose it is: “in someone’s view”. 拿 + example + 来说 backs up a general point with one example: “take … for example”.
How it is built
在 + person + 看来，opinion: 在很多人看来，桂林是中国最美的城市之一. General point。拿 + example + 来说，detail: 拿我来说，已经半年没用过现金了 (Take me: no cash for six months).
When to use it
Both open a sentence and are common in discussions and essays. 在我看来 is a polite way to give your own opinion.
Watch out
✗ 对我看来 ✓ 在我看来. Don’t mix it up with 对我来说, which means “for me, as far as I’m concerned”.

In many people’s view, Guilin is one of the most beautiful cities in China.
在大卫看来，用手机支付极其方便。
As David sees it, paying by phone is extremely convenient.
