在 + 名词 + 方面 · 在 + 名词 + 上／中
What it means
Frames the area you are talking about: “in terms of …”, “on the … side”, “in the course of …”.
How it is built
在 + noun + 方面: 在语言方面，她比我强多了 (When it comes to languages, she is far better than me). 在 + noun + 上: 在工作上. 在 + noun + 中: 在学习中.
When to use it
Pick by meaning: 方面 for an area (languages, money, health); 上 for a part of life (工作上, 学习上, 生活上); 中 for a process (在比赛中).
Watch out
The phrase goes at the start or before the verb, never at the end as in English: ✗ 我们会遇到很多问题在学习中 ✓ 在学习中，我们会遇到很多问题.
