有 (there is)
there is / there are (at a place)
Structure
地点 + 有 + 数量 + 名词 · 地点 + 没有 + 名词
What it means
Place + 有 + thing says that there is or there are something at a place.
How it is built
Place + 有 + number + noun: 门口有一家书店 (There's a bookshop by the gate). Negative: place + 没有 + noun: 我们楼下没有饭馆.
When to use it
有 brings in something new. 在 (lesson h1-6) starts with a thing you already know about: 书店在门口 (The bookshop is by the gate).
Watch out
The negative is always 没有, never 不有, just as for “to have”. For a thing everyone already knows, use 在, not 有: 我的书在桌子上.
