形容词 + 到 + 极点

extreme-degree complements: as … as can be

Structure
形容词 到(了) 极点/不行/爆

What it means

Extreme-degree complements: an adjective plus 到极点, 到不行 or 到爆 means 'as … as can be'.

How it is built

Adjective + 到(了)+ 极点/不行/爆: 今天热到不行 (it is unbearably hot today); 好到了极点 (good in the extreme).

When to use it

All mean 'extremely'; the newer, the more casual: …极了, …死了, …得要命, …到家了, …到爆, …到不行, 绝了. Of the 到 forms, 到极点 is the most neutral; 到爆 and 到不行 are trendy speech.

Watch out

One degree marker per adjective is enough, so don't stack 很 or 非常 in front: ✗今天很热到不行。 ✓今天热到不行。

Examples

“yyds”用来夸一样东西好到了极点。
“yyds” praises something as good in the extreme.
今天热到不行。
It is unbearably hot today.
