主语 + 是 + 会／能／可以／应该 或 形容词 …… + 的
What it means
Wraps the speaker’s judgement to make it sound sure and convincing, like “really” or “I’m sure”.
How it is built
Subject + 是 + 会／能／可以／应该 or adjective … + 的: 别着急，你的中文是能学好的 (don’t worry, you can definitely get good at Chinese). 划龙船是很累的 (paddling a dragon boat really is tiring).
When to use it
Use it to reassure, persuade or insist. Take away 是 and 的 and the sentence is still correct, only plainer. It is not the 是……的 that says when or how something happened (我是去年来的).
Watch out
A 不 goes inside the frame: ✗ 这个传统不是会消失的。 ✓ 这个传统是不会消失的。
Examples
只要大家还过端午节，这个传统是不会消失的。
As long as people still keep the festival, this tradition won’t disappear.
划龙船是很累的，得天天练。
Paddling a dragon boat really is tiring; you have to train every day.
别着急，你的中文是能学好的。
