Structure
另外 ，…… · 另外 + 数量 + 名词
What it means
At the start of a clause, “also, besides”: adds one more point. Before a number and a measure word, “another” or “the other”.
How it is built
另外，+ new point (often with 再 or 还): 另外，明天别忘了带词典 (Also, don’t forget your dictionary tomorrow). Or 另外 + number + measure + noun: 另外两个人 (the other two people).
When to use it
Use it to tack on an extra item or remark: 我要一杯咖啡，另外再来一个面包 (A coffee, and a bread roll as well). 另外一个 means “a different one”: 我们试试另外一个吧.
Watch out
另外 is not “and” between two nouns: ✗ 苹果另外香蕉 ✓ 苹果和香蕉. It adds a new point, not the next item in a list.
Examples
我要一杯咖啡，另外再来一个面包。

今天的作业就是这些。另外，明天别忘了带词典。
