Structure
A ，并且 B · 动词1 + 并且 + 动词2
What it means
“And also, and what’s more”: adds a further point to what you have just said.
How it is built
Clause A，并且 + clause B (often with 也 or 还): 这家店的东西很便宜，并且送得很快 (This shop is cheap, and it delivers fast too). Or verb 1 + 并且 + verb 2, one subject: 讨论并且同意了.
When to use it
Much the same as 而且 (不但……而且……) but a little more formal, so it suits writing and careful speech. In casual talk 而且 is more usual.
Watch out
并且 never joins two nouns: ✗ 我并且他 ✓ 我和他. Use 和 for nouns; 并且 is for clauses or verbs.
Examples
这家店的东西很便宜，并且送得很快。
This shop is cheap, and it delivers fast too.
他找到了工作，并且很快就适应了。
He found a job, and he soon settled in.
大家讨论并且同意了这个计划。
Everyone discussed the plan and agreed to it.
