X就X(一点儿)吧
so it’s X, never mind: accepting something that isn’t ideal
Structure
形容词/动词 + 就 + 形容词/动词 (+ 一点儿) + 吧
What it means
Saying the same word twice with 就 in between means “all right, it’s X, but that doesn’t matter”: you accept something that isn’t ideal.
How it is built
Adjective/verb + 就 + the same word (+ 一点儿) + 吧, then a reason it doesn’t matter: 贵就贵一点儿吧,好吃就行 (so it’s a bit pricey; as long as it tastes good).
When to use it
It is spoken and relaxed, for shrugging off a small drawback. After an adjective, 一点儿 (in quick speech just 点儿) softens it: 远就远一点儿吧. With a verb it is usually just X就X吧: 下就下吧,我们打车去.
Watch out
Both sides must be the same word: ✗ 贵就便宜吧。 ✓ 贵就贵一点儿吧。 A reason why it doesn’t matter usually follows: …,坐地铁很方便。
