谨 + 动词

respectfully; I (we) humbly … (in letters and speeches)

Structure
(主语) 谨 (代表…/向…) 动词(致/表示/祝/上)

What it means

谨 (jǐn, 'careful, reverent') before a verb shows the writer acts with respect: 'I (we) respectfully …'. It describes the speaker's own action.

How it is built

(我/我们/我校) + 谨 + (代表…/向…) + verb (致, 表示, 祝, 上): 我谨代表公司向全体员工致以节日的问候 (On behalf of the company I respectfully send holiday greetings to all staff). Sign-offs: 王明谨上, 谨启; also 谨此致谢.

When to use it

Letters, speeches and ceremonies. Without 谨 the sentence is plain (我代表公司…); with it, it is humble and ceremonial. One 谨 per sentence is enough, and in a chat message it sounds stiff.

Watch out

The subject is the speaker's side, never the person addressed: ✗ 请您谨致… ✓ 我谨致…. 谨慎 (careful, 3-7) shares the character but is a separate word.
