Structure
主语 + 跟／和 + 人 + 一起／一块儿 + 动词
What it means
跟 (or 和) + person + 一起 before the verb says who you do something with.
How it is built
Subject + 跟／和 + person + 一起 + verb: 我跟朋友一起去看电影 (I’m going to see a film with a friend).
When to use it
一块儿 means the same as 一起 but is more spoken, especially in Beijing. Meeting someone works the same way: 我跟他见面 (I’m meeting him).
Watch out
✗ 我去看电影跟朋友。 ✓ 我跟朋友一起去看电影。 ✗ 我见面他。 ✓ 我跟他见面。 The person goes before the verb.

明天我跟朋友一起去看电影。
Tomorrow I’m going to see a film with a friend.
你跟我们一起去吧！
Come with us!
我和妈妈一块儿做晚饭。
Mum and I are making dinner together.
