Structure
分批 动词（＋ 宾语） ／ 分 数字 批 动词
What it means
In batches: the action is done group by group, not all at once.
How it is built
分批 + verb (+ object), or 分 + number + 批 + verb to give the count: 新车将分三批交付 (the new cars will be delivered in three batches).
When to use it
Notices, news and planning: 分批撤离、分批入场、分批到达. Name the batches 首批、第二批、最后一批. 分期 is in instalments over time (分期付款); 批量 is in bulk, of goods made or sold.
Watch out
It always goes before the verb: ✗ 学生进入食堂分批 ✓ 学生分批进入食堂. For a count, put the number inside: ✓ 分三批出发.
Examples
工人们按企业编组，由干部带队，分批向港口、机场和边境转移。
The workers were grouped by company and moved, batch by batch and each group led by its managers, towards the ports, airports and borders.
为了避免拥挤，各年级的学生分批进入食堂。
To avoid crowding, the students go into the canteen one year group at a time.
这些新车将分三批交付，第一批下个月到货。
The new cars will be delivered in three batches, the first arriving next month.
