存现句:出现和消失
something appears at, or disappears from, a place; the newcomer comes after the verb
Structure
地点 + 动词 + 趋向/结果 + (了) + 数量 + 名词
What it means
Says that something appears at, or disappears from, a place. The place comes first, and the newcomer comes after the verb.
How it is built
Place + verb + direction/result + (了) + number + noun: 树上跳下来一只猴子 (a monkey jumped down from the tree). 前面走过来两个人 (two people are walking towards us).
When to use it
It builds on 门口站着一个人 (h2-12), which says what is there; here the verb shows something arriving or leaving. It also reports a loss: 我包里少了一根香蕉 (a banana is missing from my bag).
Watch out
The thing after the verb must be new to the listener, so use 一只, 两个, not 这只 or a name: ✗ 树上跳下来那只猴子。 ✓ 那只猴子从树上跳下来。
