从
through, by way of (a place)
Structure
从 + place + verb
What it means
从 + a place says where a movement starts or which way it passes: out of, in through, by way of. It is the same 从 as “from” in 从……到…… (h1-13).
How it is built
从 + place + verb of moving (出来, 进去, 走): 你从B出口出来吧 (Come out through Exit B).
When to use it
Use it for the way in, out or through: a door, an exit, this way (从这儿走). For “from … to …”, pair it with 到: 从九点到十二点.
Watch out
The place goes between 从 and the verb, never after the verb. ✗ 我们进去从这个门。 ✓ 我们从这个门进去。

从这儿走,五分钟就到。
