看到别人开奶茶店赚钱,大家就一哄而上,结果不到一年倒闭了一大半。
Seeing others make money from bubble-tea shops, everyone piled in at once, and within a year more than half had gone bust.
Tone: negative (criticism).
Usage and origin
Always critical: a crowd jumping on the same idea with no plan. A favourite in official warnings (不能一哄而上) about investment fads and copycat projects; the spoken equivalent is 一窝蜂 (lesson 1-16).
