…者有之,…者亦有之
some A, some B, and some C too (surveying a range)
Structure
A 者有之 , B 者有之 , C 者亦有之
What it means
A classical way to survey a range of views or kinds: “some do A, some do B, and some do C too”. 者 means “those who …” or “ones that …”, and 有之 means “such exist”.
How it is built
Short phrase + 者有之, at least twice, with 亦 (= 也) usually on the last part: 叫好者有之,质疑者亦有之 (some applauded, and some had their doubts).
When to use it
Commentary and reviews, to sum up mixed reactions; above all 赞成者有之,反对者亦有之. More detached and literary than 有人…,有人…,也有人…. In a lighter style 的 can stand in for 者: 说好的有之,说坏的也有之.
Watch out
Keep the order, 者 first, then 有之: ✗有之叫好者 ✓叫好者有之. Each part before 者 is short (a verb phrase or adjective), and you need at least two parts.
