What it means
“Again and again; repeatedly, in quick succession”: an action repeated many times within a short span, usually something you can see.
How it is built
Subject + 频频 + verb (phrase), straight before the verb: 会谈中，他频频点头 (throughout the talks he kept nodding). Common: 频频举杯, 频频失误, 事故频频发生.
When to use it
Written and a little vivid. 屡次 counts separate occasions over a longer time (屡次获奖); 经常 is the everyday word for habits.
Watch out
Not for habits or routines. ✗ 我频频去健身房 ✓ 我经常去健身房.
