Structure
每 + （数词） + 量词 + 名词 （+ 都 ） · 每天／每年
What it means
每 means “every, each”: 每天 every day, 每个人 everyone. It usually comes with 都 before the verb.
How it is built
每 + (number) + measure word + noun (+ 都) + verb: 每个星期六我都去看奶奶 (Every Saturday I go to see my grandma).
When to use it
天 and 年 are measure words themselves: 每天, 每年. 星期 and 月 usually take 个: 每个星期, 每个月. 都 usually goes right before the verb: 我每天都喝咖啡.
Watch out
每天 goes before the verb, never at the end like English. ✗ 我起床每天。 ✓ 我每天起床。 Don’t drop the measure word: ✗ 每书 ✓ 每本书.
Examples
我每天七点起床。
I get up at seven every day.
每个星期六我都去看奶奶。
Every Saturday I go to see my grandma.
这里每年都下雪。
It snows here every year.
