Structure
理由一 ， 况且 理由二（常带 又／也／还）
What it means
Moreover, besides: adds a second reason that backs up the first, often the one that settles the matter.
How it is built
Reason 1, 况且 + reason 2 (usually with 又, 也 or 还): 菜点多了吃不完，况且也不健康 (Order too many dishes and you can’t finish them; besides, it isn’t healthy).
When to use it
To stack reasons behind a conclusion or decision. Fine in speech and writing. 何况 can do the same job, but 何况 also means “let alone”, which 况且 cannot.
Watch out
✗连大人都搬不动，况且孩子。 ✓连大人都搬不动，何况孩子。 况且 only adds a reason; for “let alone” use 何况.
Examples
这份工作工资不高，况且离家又远，我不想去。
The pay is poor, and besides it is a long way from home; I don’t want the job.
菜点多了吃不完，况且也不健康。
Order too many dishes and you can’t finish them; besides, it isn’t healthy.
时间还早，况且你明天又不上班，再坐一会儿吧。
It is still early, and anyway you are not working tomorrow: stay a little longer.
