尽可以 + 动词
can by all means; are quite free to; feel free to
Structure
主语 尽可以 动词短语 (, 可/但 限制) · (口语) 尽管 动词
What it means
Tells someone they may do something as freely as they like: “by all means, feel free to”. 尽 (jǐn, as in 尽量) means “to the full, without holding back”.
How it is built
Subject + 尽可以 + verb phrase (+ 可/但 + limit): 你尽可以不信,可事实就是这样 (You are welcome not to believe it, but those are the facts).
When to use it
Writers often grant the freedom, then limit it with 可 or 但. In speech the adverb 尽管 does the same: 有问题尽管问. Keep it apart from the conjunction 尽管…还是… (although).
Watch out
It comes after the subject (✗尽可以你问 ✓你尽可以问), and it grants permission, not ability: for “is able to” use 能.
