Structure
非常 + 形容词／心理动词
What it means
非常 is a stronger 很: 很好 is good, 非常好 is very good indeed.
How it is built
非常 + adjective or a feeling verb (喜欢, 爱, 想): 这个电影非常好看 (this film is really good), 我非常喜欢中国菜.
When to use it
Use it when 很 is not strong enough. Like 很, it goes right before the adjective or feeling verb: 他学习非常认真 (he studies extremely hard).
Watch out
✗ 非常很好 ✓ 非常好: use only one degree word. Don’t mix up 非常 (how much) with 常常 (how often), even though both have 常.
