Structure
过去的某件事 ， 此后 （一段时间） 后来一直的情况
What it means
“After that; from then on”: 此后 (此 = 这) points back to an event just mentioned and covers the whole period after it.
How it is built
Past event ， 此后 + (time span) + what followed, often with 一直, 再也没 or 陆续: 他三年前去了深圳，此后再也没回过老家 (he went to Shenzhen three years ago and has not been home since).
When to use it
Written style; in speech people say 后来 or 从那以后. 从此 is close, but stresses a lasting change that began at that moment.
Watch out
It stands at the head of its clause; unlike 以后 it cannot follow a verb. ✗ 下班此后 ✓ 下班以后.

他三年前去了深圳，此后再也没回过老家。
He went to Shenzhen three years ago and has not been back home since.
公司去年换了新老板，此后接连推出了好几款新产品。
The company got a new boss last year, and since then it has brought out one new product after another.
这家小店1998年开业，此后二十多年，价格几乎没怎么变过。
This little shop opened in 1998, and in the twenty-odd years since, its prices have hardly changed.
