把…放到／挂在／还给

Structure
主语 + 把 + 东西 + 动词 + 到／在 + 地方 · 把 + 东西 + 动词 + 给 + 人
What it means
This 把 pattern says where something ends up when you put, hang or move it, or which person you hand it to.
How it is built
把 + thing + verb + 到／在 + place, or verb + 给 + person: 我把车停在楼下了 (I parked the car downstairs). 请把这本书还给他 (please give this book back to him).
When to use it
Use it whenever a moved thing lands in a place or with a person. 放在 says where it ends up; 放到 stresses moving it there; here both are fine. 给 marks who receives it: 还给, 送给, 交给.
Watch out
English order doesn’t work: ✗ 我放书到书架上。 ✓ 我把书放到书架上。 An ordinary object used as a place needs 上 or 里: 挂在衣架上, 放在包里.
